Research Status
My group is devoted to the research on computer networks, particularly the architectures, systems and protocols of Internet as well as data center network. My research approach includes both theoretical analysis and prototype validation.
In data center networking, we target at a scalable, high-performance, reliable, virtualized and green data center network. We proposed a low-cost, heterogeneous data center network topology, a high-performance and reliable data center multicast routing protocol, an efficient network resource allocation algorithm for virtualized data centers, as well as a green data center routing protocol.
In software defined networking, we developed SODA, an SDN system composed of both pure software switches and controller, with enhances data plane functionalities. SODA provides highly flexible configuration and programmability on the network functionality to network operators and engineers, which particularly fits as a network research and education platform.
