On March 1st, 2012, famous computer scientist Wang Chengwei, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), was invited to be adjunct professor of DCST in multi function hall, FIT Building.

Professor Wu Jianping, chair of DCST, hosted the ceremony. Qiu Yong, vice-president of Tsinghua University issued certificate of appointment to academician Wang Chengwei and gave a high praise on his great contribution. Academician Wang Chengwei extended his heartfelt thanks to Tsinghua University for the appointment and his desire for committing to the development for DCST.

Before the appointment ceremony, academician Wang Chengwei graced DCST forum with a lecture on cyber space. Over 100 teachers and students of DCST attended the forum.

Academician Wang Chengwei, adviser of science and technology in the PLA General Armament Department., former permanent consultant of the General Armament Department and the Ministry of Science and Technology, team leader of National 863 Program for Intelligent Computing, has been engaging in the computer and artificial intelligence research for a long time. He was awarded the second prize of National Prize for progress in science and technology twice in 1987 and 1998, as well as the He Liang Pau li Funds for Science and Technology Progress Award in 1998. In 1994, he was elected as member of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
