Title: A Vision Information Technologies for Intelligent Society

Abstract:

Recently new technologies such as cloud computing, massive data processing, knowledge processing are emerging to enable new ways to build IT infrastructures. On the other h companies our society face more more complex issues today. Accordingly, the number of new IT services that should be designed to address the needs of multiple companies or stakeholders is increasing. On the contrary most IT systems up to now have been designed to satisfy limited business functions within a single enterprise, typically substituting simple human activities. With this in mind, in this keynote a new vision will be introduced that shifts the system design paradigm from IT-centric to human-centric, focusing on “people society” the “value benefit” that they will obtain from IT systems. Also research directions such as “value-based visualization & optimization” “value-based knowledge processing” that will underpin such new infrastructures under this vision will be discussed

Biography：

Senior Vice President of Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. since June 2009, responsible for information technology for software solutions global business support. Received degree from Tokyo Inst of Technology in 1980. Joined Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. in 1980. Principal research area was software engineering including object-oriented software design, distributed software architecture design, re-engineering of legacy software systems.Received the best paper award from Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) in 1991. Member of IEEE, ACM, IPSJ, IEICE (The Institute of Electronics, Information Communication Engineers, Japan).
